2023 Ford Super Duty introduces the all-new 2023 F-Series Super Duty. The pickup truck lineup and chassis cab were redesigned inside and out, featuring new powertrain options as well as new towing features, in-cabin technology, and 5G capabilities.
Add to that all the cloud-based services that Ford says offer a new level of productivity.

2023 Ford Super Duty Review
The New 2023 F250 has been completely redesigned for the upcoming model year. The changes include a new design, updated technology features, and an improved powertrain. Here’s what we know so far about the redesigned 2023 F-250 pickup truck.
The F-250 enters 2023 with a new look. Let’s be honest here, the refreshed look isn’t entirely radical, things have just been changed a bit for a nicer design. Pickup trucks are now available with seven different grille designs, which vary depending on trim level.
The truck had new C-shaped lighting elements, larger functional side vents, reworked taillights, and new tail doors with some unique luxury features.
Ford has equipped a heavy-duty pickup truck with new side footings on both sides of the rear bumper, along with side footings directly in front of the rear wheels to access belongings on the bed more easily.
2023 Ford Super Duty Exterior
The new Super Duty features new grilles, all designed to maximize cooling performance when under heavy loads.
The distinctive “C-clamp” lighting creates a spacious, built-in front view while LED headlights are now available at all trim levels. Functional long-side ventilation reduces air pressure under the hood to improve aerodynamics.
New appearance packages are also available: The STX, Sport, and Black Appearance packages offer a variety of trim, alloy wheel, and paint combinations. The new XL Off-Road package is available on F-250 or F-350 models with a single rear wheel 4×4.
He added sturdy 33-inch tires, a raised air dam, a water-shading axle vent hole tube, skid plates, and an electronic locking rear differential.
The Off-Road Tremor package includes a uniquely tuned front-end lift and suspension, Dana front axle with limited skid differential and axle ventilation tubes, 35-inch Goodyear tires, unique 18-inch wheels, Trail Control, selectable riding modes including a rock-crawl mode and new-for-the-year, Trail Turn Assist.
New Super Duty Interior
Ford has given a little more love to the interior of the 2023 F-250 than to its exterior. The dashboard has been redesigned to have simple lines that almost fill the width of the truck rather than having a large center console that stands out like last year’s model.
The center console still features a similar button layout, but now has a larger infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster available. Ford now offers a 2023 F-250 with Max Recline Seats as an option that includes almost flat collapsible front seats.
On the technology side, the 2023 Ford F-250 comes with much more modern features than before. The lower trim level comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, while the higher trim comes with a 12-inch screen.
Other features available include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, an 18-speaker Band & Olufsen audio system, built-in 5G capabilities, navigation, and a head-up display. One of the cooler new technology features on the F-250 is the introduction of Trailer Navigation.
Super Duty owners can incorporate the dimensions of their trailer into the navigation system and pickup trucks will find routes that avoid potential hazards such as low bridges and sharp turns.
2023 Super Duty Engine
The F-250 received an updated powertrain for 2023. The standard engine is a 6.8-liter V8 engine, although Ford has not shared performance figures for the bike. Ford has upgraded its available 7.3-liter V8 engine with a new intake for best-in-class horsepower and torque.
The 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 engine is available in a new high-output configuration with a dedicated turbocharger and other upgrades for best-in-class figures as well. All engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all trims above the XLT come standard with four-wheel drive.
Updated towing figures have been announced for the 2023 Ford F-250. It can now tow up to 23,000 pounds when properly equipped with a diesel engine.
Other powertrains can also do fair rides on the F-250. Optional features for enhanced towing capabilities include a new available 360-degree trailer camera package and optional onboard scales.
Safety
Ford has added several new safety features available for 2023. This heavy-duty pickup can be equipped with adaptive cruise control, lane maintenance assistance, stop-and-go traffic assistance, front parking sensors, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
The pickup is also available with a new camera mounted on the top of the rear door to help the driver see what’s behind the truck even if the rear door is lowered.
Powertrain Options
We don’t know the power and crane figures yet, but here’s what we know. The new Super Task has four engine options:
- The new standard 6.8-liter V8 gas engine targets lower torque to start on steep inclines and merge onto highways more easily.
- 7.3-liter V8 targeting best-in-class gas and torque power thanks to improved air intake and tuning
- 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine that has longer intervals between oil changes to work longer
- New high-output 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel with unique turbo, improved exhaust manifold, and unique tuning targeting best-in-class horsepower and torque.
Each engine is mated to a 10-speed T orqShift automatic transmission designed and manufactured by Ford. Ford also said that each chassis cabin model comes standard with a power take-off connection to run additional equipment, such as a boom lift and plow.
In addition, four-wheel drive is now standard on XLT models and above.
2023 Ford Super Duty Price and Release Date
Ford has not officially said how much the 2023 F-250 will cost. Based on the extent of the full redesign, we expect the new model to be more expensive than the current model which ranges from $41,240 to $91,875 with a purpose. The truck will arrive early next year.
